Chapter 4
Emily
I stood in my bathroom, wiping my eyes to dry them completely. I dipped a washcloth in some cool water that filled my sink and gently washed the scrapes on my face. Running though the woods wasnt such a good idea. Once I got them clean I didnt have to worry; theyd be healed by morning. Sighing, I emptied my sink and hung up the cloth.
I walked back into the bedroom. I knew Ital and Jack were probably still standing out there, waiting for me to come out and explain. Actually, maybe they werent. Ital had probably already read my mind and had told Jack what the problem was. They were smart boys; they knew when to leave me alone.
I lay down in my soft, stuffed animal-filled bed and stared at the ceiling. I could hear the faint sound of my parents bed squeaking, and I knew they were at it again. Damn it. Didnt they know they had kids in the house? Shouldnt they practice not doing it when they were around?! I sighed with annoyance and turned to my side. Suddenly, visions of that boy from the woods popped into my head. He was so
hot. I could tell he had muscles, because his shirt was some-what tight against his body. Maybe he worked out a lot? And I still couldnt get over those gorgeous eyes of his; they were prettier than my brothers. If only he had his hair straightened, then he would be perfect. Oh, who am I kidding, hes already perfect! Everything about him was perfect; his looks, his kindness, his smell.
But there was no such thing as love at first sight, right?
